
Lake Singakarak located in two districts in West Sumatra, Kabupaten Solok and Tanah Datar. With an area of 107.8 km lake is the second largest lake on the island of Sumatra. This lake is upstream Ombilin Trunk. This portion of the lake water flowed through the tunnel through the Bukit Barisan to Batang Anai to drive hydroelectric generators in the near Lubuk Alung Singkarak, Padang Pariaman.
Fish bilih (Mystacoleucus padangensis) is a species of fish are expected to only live in this lake [1], and became one of typical foods. Research experts revealed are 19 species of freshwater fish living in aquatic habitats of Lake Batur, Solok and Tanah Datar, West Sumatera (Sumatra), with limited availability of food materials.
